Pilates
Mindful movement for every body.
Pilates will meet anybody’s needs to improve their movement in a graceful way, and at the same time make it extremely challenging.
Pilates is a form of low-impact exercise that aims to strengthen muscles while improving postural alignment and flexibility.
You can expect the moves to involve slow, precise movements and breath control. It may also involve some simple equipment.
Pilates tends to focus on the core (back, abdomen, and pelvic floor muscles) as this is the centre for which other movements occur from. They help ensure correct movement patterns which help prevent injuries, and aid in the recovery of existing injuries. However, still expect a full body work out as this is how we move our bodies in everyday function. It is suitable for everybody in a nonjudgemental space.
Pilates is back!
We are really excited to be starting Pilates classes again at Thrive. We currently offer 4 classes per week. Tuesday at 8am & 9am, and Wednesdays at 430pm & 530pm.
The classes will be a small group class with maximum of 6 people and be approximately 55minutes in duration.
The cost will be $20 per class and can be purchased in packs of 5 or 10.
No need to commit to the whole term, just attend the weeks you can. However with consistent practice you will feel more improvements.
Any unused credits will roll over to next term.
These can be purchased in person at reception or over the phone.
The classes will be suitable to all levels and will incorporate Pilates equipment at each session to keep the movements fun.
Mats are provided but you can bring your own with you if you prefer.
